Max

Project Overview

The Max Project is Jaxon Mining’s flagship silver-antimony-gold exploration target, located approximately 35 kilometres north of Smithers, British Columbia. Part of the larger Hazelton Property, Max hosts a high-grade, structurally and stratigraphically controlled mineral system with exceptional potential.

The project area features multiple mineralization styles, including stratiform massive sulfides, crosscutting polymetallic veins and breccias, and disseminated sulfides within rhyolite. Max has consistently delivered some of the highest-grade silver and antimony samples reported in Canada, making it a standout exploration opportunity in a geopolitically secure jurisdiction.

Geology and Mineralization

The Max Project lies within the Cretaceous Skeena Group, specifically the Rocky Ridge Formation, a bimodal volcanic-sedimentary sequence prospective for VMS-style mineralization. The property also includes the Max Stock, a small dioritic intrusion believed to be associated with mineralized vein systems.

Mineralization styles include:

  • Stratiform, bedding-parallel massive sulfide horizons
  • High-grade crosscutting veins and breccias acting as potential feeder conduits
  • Disseminated pyrite and sphalerite in rhyolite bodies and altered tuffs

Minerals of interest include silver, antimony, gold, zinc, lead, and copper.

2017 Drill Program Highlights

In late 2017, Jaxon Mining completed 2,022 metres of NQ-core drilling across 12 holes. This marked the first modern drill program on the Max target since the 1980s.

Results confirmed multiple high-grade mineralized zones:

Hole JAX17-11 intercepted 1,206 g/t silver in massive sulfide veining, with associated antimony and gold.

Hole JAX17-12 returned 418 g/t silver in a deeper zone, supporting the presence of stacked mineralization.

11 distinct high-grade silver intervals (>100 g/t Ag) were intersected in 7 of the 12 holes.

Surface mineral showings in the Max area

Historical Work and Surface Results

Previous work on the Max area includes trenching, geophysics, channel sampling, and soil surveys dating back to the 1970s. Surface sampling programs have returned outstanding values:

  • Up to 3,398 g/t silver
  • Up to 7.6% antimony
  • Up to 12.7 g/t gold
  • Lead and zinc values in multiple percent ranges

These samples were collected from multiple surface showings including the Max Main Trench, Creek, Forgotten, and Ted zones.

Location and Access

The Max Project is accessible via a network of logging roads northeast of the Suskwa Forest Service Road, with additional access supported by helicopter from Smithers. The nearby town provides essential infrastructure, field crews, and support services for exploration work.

Future Work

Jaxon is preparing a two-phase follow-up exploration program:

Phase 1
High-resolution induced polarization (IP) and electromagnetic (EM) geophysical surveys to target conductive structures along known mineralized corridors, including the Showing Creek Zone.

Phase 2
Targeted shallow diamond drilling to follow up on 2017 intercepts and test new geophysical anomalies. Prioritized drill targets will include both extensions of known mineralization and newly defined structural zones.
